Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

BASIC FUNCTION

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiographic and computed tomographic exams/procedures at appropriate technical level. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnosis. PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:

- Obtains appropriate patient history prior to the start of the exam to ensure safety and abiding by ALARA.
- Performs regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the tube.
- Uses computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues as required by the protocols set forth by the Radiology group.
- Assists in performing first aid within their scope of knowledge.
- Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness, including provision for the contamination-free condition of rooms, equipment, and personnel.
- Secures and returns supplies.
- Reports equipment failure to supervisor and calls in a ticket to the appropriate vendor using proper forms and maintaining appropriate records.

Under the direction of the Nurse Supervisor, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the medical care of clients within the Detox, Residential, and/or Extended Treatment Programs. This includes the direct provision of medical care to clients and triage/coordination for clients who must be seen by the physician. The Registered Nurse serves as a member of the program’s interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with other members to problem-solve and ensure quality client care and overall program operations. The Registered Nurse works to strengthen SFRC’s integrity by ensuring the medical policies, procedures, and systems are adhered to and in compliance with applicable State & Federal regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse License. Must be licensed at the time of hire, and continue licensure throughout employment.
- One-year of experience working with clients with co-occurring mental health/substance abuse problems is preferred.
- Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with licensing and certification standards and requirements for use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.
