Position: Nurse Practitioner: Urgent Care/Pediatrics Experience 

Location: Brawley, CA & Calexico, CA

Schedule Depends on Location:

  • (Brawley, CA) – Fulltime – 8:00am to 6:00pm
  • (Calexico, CA) – Fulltime – 7 Days on 7 Days off (8-12 hr. days)

Summary:

Under the general direction of the Medical Director, examines and treats patients, for episodic visits and on-going care of chronic and acute health conditions. Does health history and physical examinations and manages low to high-risk patients according to protocol and within limits of training and competence with appropriate MD supervision and consultation. Coordinates care with MD to makes referrals to outside agencies as indicated. Complies with all of the facility’s policies, procedures, and PA/NP protocols.

Essential Functions:

  • Examines patients: independently assesses and develops a treatment plan according to the protocols and consultations with the physician
    • Determines whether the patient’s condition requires the immediate attention of the supervising physician.
    • Executes standing orders.
    • Identifies normal and abnormal findings in history and physical exam. Orders appropriate laboratory and x-ray studies.
    • After consultation with the supervising physician, may refer appropriate patients to specialist for consultation.
    • May perform routine diagnostic procedures.
    • May perform routine therapeutic procedures.
    • Writes prescriptions as permitted by the state regulatory agency
  • Provides pre-placement employment, school, camp, sports, DMV physicals
  • Provides patient education for health problems, prevention etc.
    • Instructs and counsels patient or legal guardian regarding matters pertaining to their physical and mental health, such as diets, social habits, medications, and the nature and treatment of their injury or illness and required follow up.
  • Assists the Clinic Director in providing supervision of clinical support staff in their role of performing treatment preps, assessments, documentation, and education to facility patients.
  • Assist the Medical Director and Clinic Director in maintaining and updating protocols/policies as necessary based on current technical data or annual timelines.
  • Actively participates in Quality improvement activities through routine chart reviews or other methods identified by the Manager and/or Medical Director.
  • Keeps current professionally by attending CE courses, reading professional journals, etc.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Experience:

  • Previous experience in an Urgent Care or ED clinical setting is preferred.
  • Must be capable of independent assessment and development of a treatment plan in consultation with the physician and in compliance with NP/PA protocols and other regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ work experience post-graduation of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid RN NP license and furnishing license, State of California, or must have completed a qualified Physician Assistant program and have certification from the Medical Board of California.
  • Must have and maintain a current DEA license.
  • Two (2) years acute care nursing experience preferred.
  • At least one-year experience in Pediatric Care preferred.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate, Required.
  • Experience and knowledge in basic to intermediate computer skills.

JOB SUMMARY:

Assume primary health care of specific patients under the direction of the Medical Director. Follow established standards, procedures and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Nursing Department Manager, NICU Nights – Location: Downey, CA

Job description

Manages the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care within assigned department and across the continuum of care. Manages the delivery of services that add value and are integrated with nursing standards of practice, service priorities and performance/outcome measures, as well as with strategic, business and organizational goals/objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages on a 24 hour basis the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care which meet or exceed cost, quality, and clinical and utilization standards and performance measures.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains patient care and service standards to meet members’ and internal clients’ expectations and needs in a changing, competitive health care market.  Holds staff accountable in providing the highest quality of care while in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, TJC, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Works with Nursing Leadership to develop strategic/business plans to achieve integrated services across the continuum of care.  Manages and ensures continuous improvement of all clinical practices, services and operations by designing and implementing systems, processes and methods to evaluate and improve patient care within assigned department and across the continuum of care.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience relevant to a given position/department required, including three (3) years of management, supervisory or leadership* experience.

Education

  • Academic degree in nursing required (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN and National Health/Nursing Administration Certification or MSN are required for Pediatric and NICU Departments for facilities that are CCS certified or desire CCS certification. This requirement applies to Downey, LAMC, San Diego, Fontana and Orange County.

License, Certification, Registration

  • Current RN license required; California RN license required by date of hire.
  • BLS certificate required.

What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements on this position?

CA RN license, BLS, NRP, RNC-NIC, MSN. Must have RN experience in either a level III or level IV NICU. Candidate should have experience managing/supervising a minimum of 8-12 beds.

Interventional Radiologic Technologist - Location: Brawley & Ridgecrest, CA

JOB TITLE:  Interventional Radiologic Technologist

REPORTS TO: Director of Imaging, Radiology Manager, Chief Radiologist                              

LOCATION: Brawley, CA

SUMMARY:   

Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks eminent in operating radiographic equipment to perform vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of radiographic equipment to make special study radiographs of designated body portions in accordance with radiation safety procedures
  2. Set up sterile trays and other equipment practicing sterile technique and assist the radiologist during angiographic and interventional procedures
  3. Operate fluoroscopic equipment. Position patients for rapid sequence imaging during contrast media administration.
  4. Load power injectors with contrast media, prepare for injections and assist the radiologist with passage of catheters and guidewires.
  5. Maintain studies within the image archival system locally and confirm image transfer to PACS.
  6. Assist in orientation of new technologists; provide education and training to student technologist as needed.
  7. Maintain patient records and familiarization with RIS system and HIS system to coordinate procedure performance across different hospital divisions.
  8. Maintain par levels of inventory for catheters, balloons, stents, guidewires and miscellaneous kits under direction of the radiologist and Director of Imaging.
  9. Coordinate scheduling with the Radiology office staff to promote patient flow within the nuero-vascular radiographic suites.
  10. Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein (patient transport, etc.)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for orientation of new technologists, also provide mentoring, training and supervision. Collaborate with the radiologist in development of new protocols

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to work with complex technologies.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role when necessary.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and pathology.
  • Knowledge of radiation physics as it pertains to radiation protection.
  • Knowledge of contrast media and medications routinely used in radiology.
  • Knowledge of the principals of digital imaging and digital subtraction techniques.
  • Skill in performing venipuncture and starting IVs.
  • Skill in communicating with patients of all ages to explain procedures and obtain patient cooperation in completing procedures.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to exam protocols and guidelines.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in highly stressful emergency situations when patient’s life is in jeopardy.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a 24 month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or bachelor’s degree program in Radiology required.
  • Must have two (2) years’ experience in interventional radiology.
  • ARRT certification in vascular interventional technology or eligible within 12 months of employment preferred.
  • Must have current Certified Radiologic Technologist (California) & Fluoroscopy   Permit (California).
  • Completion of a course in venipuncture.
  • Must have BLS certification.

Position Summary

  • Surgical technicians assist surgeons and other medical professionals in hospital operating rooms and similar environments. Chiefly, they prepare patients, rooms and equipment for pending surgical procedures. They also assist during those procedures as part of a team of operating room professionals.

Job Duties

  • In preparing operating rooms, surgical technicians ensure that all of the equipment needed for the procedure is properly disinfected and assembled. They also check that the equipment is in working order. They place sterile solutions in areas where they can be easily reached by doctors.
  • To prepare patients for surgery, surgical technicians may clean, shave and disinfect the areas of a patient’s body that will be operated on. They then move patients to the OR and position them on the operating table, using sterile surgical drapes to cover them. Monitoring patients’ vital signs and observing their status is another job responsibility of a surgical technician.
